July 18 -- 312 golfers from the northeast region with ties to the semiconductor industry participated in the 10th Annual Tech Valley Charity Golf Tournament at Saratoga National Golf Club in Saratoga Springs, NY. The tournament was hosted by M+W Group and Total Facility Solutions. Swagelok Albany | Connecticut sponsored a beverage cart and a foursome. Participants in the tournament raised more than $125,000 that day.
"I participate each year in order to showcase Swagelok Albany's support of the local Make-a-Wish chapter,” Brad Taylor, Business Development Manager said. “At the dinner reception each year 3 or 4 Make-a-Wish recipients tell their stories about how this organization has changed their life or that of their children. I am proud that Swagelok Albany is so generous in giving back to the community.”
June 10 -- Team Swagelok, including employees, family, and friends participated in the American Diabetes Association's Tour de Cure in the Capital Region of New York. After two years of rainy, dreary Tours in a row, the team, captained by Christine Delarm, finally got to enjoy a beautiful day. This year's Tour at the Saratoga County Fairgrounds in Ballston Spa, NY included 1,200 participants and 300 volunteers, sponsors, and spectators.
"It means a lot to us that Albany Valve & Fitting Co. once again sponsored Tour," Laura Greenaway, Development Director said. "We appreciate the support of our sponsors, riders, volunteers, and the community in helping the American Diabetes Association bring us closer to a life free of diabetes and all its burdens.”
May 12 -- On a rainy Saturday in May, Team Swagelok participated in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's One Walk, a fun, family-friendly event where dedicated walkers, volunteers, and sponsors raised money to make living with T1D safer and healthier, until it is no longer a threat.
As the leading global organization funding T1D research, JDRF's mission is to accelerate life-changing breakthroughs to cure, prevent, and treat T1D and its complications. The JDRF One Walk is the largest T1D event in the world and Albany Valve & Fitting Co., Inc. was proud to sponsor it.
Participating in the JDRF walk was fun and inspiring,” Jasmine Roberts, Team Captain said. “Seeing the immense amount of support, striving for a cure was really moving.”
By raising money and awareness, JDRF seeks to help make a world without T1D a reality.
