According to JDRF Executive Director Denise Nicastro, "While the world's attention is focused on a pandemic, we will not forget or lose sight of also fighting another important battle – finding a cure for T1D. Despite not being together in person for our JDRF One Walk, we can still bring Walk day spirit and the sense of hope, community. and celebration to our T1D community … virtually!

HOW IT WORKED

During the event, the Virtual One Walk took over the Northeastern New York Chapter's Facebook page. The event kicked off with opening remarks, a warm up, and virtual ribbon cutting. Continuing for another 2 hours, JDRF posted images of walkers, shared the Mile of Hope, and uploaded videos of special guests.

"Thank you for your appearances on Walk day, we are truly grateful," Denise Nicastro, JDRF Executive Director said. "Swagelok's support has meant so much to us above and beyond sponsorship – you have become part of our JDRF family. We look forward to celebrating our success when we can, hopefully sooner rather than later.”
