Our Support of the Community
Swagelok Albany | Connecticut is proud to support the community by promoting education, health, and youth leadership development programs.
Nov. 9 -- Seven people (Christine and Brian Delarm, Maura Furey, Janéah and Ryan O'Leary, and Diane and Justin Ryan) represented our company at the JDRF One Hope Ball. Swagelok Albany | Connecticut was a sponsor. A total of approximately 300 people were in attendance. We are pleased to share that our representatives were included in the SEEN Gallery on the Albany Times Union website, the #1 feature of timesunion.com in terms of clicks. Please see photo #71.
The organizers of the Ball were excited about raising a new record.
"One of the best parts of my job is seeing what happens when we all work together," Danielle Slater, JDRF Development Manager said. "I am grateful to all of the volunteers, donors, committees, and team that worked together to put on a flawless event and raise over $620,000! As someone who has lived with type 1 diabetes for over 26 years, I am humbled and appreciative for everyone's support and I know that collectively we will turn Type One into Type None.”
The black tie event included cocktails, silent and live auction, dinner, and music by The Accents. It was hosted by Greg Floyd, CBS6 Albany, and honored Chris Martell and Druthers Brewing Company. Druthers prepared a special brew just for the event: Us Versus None.
"I was blown away by the outstanding success of the night – between the generosity of the community, our honoree, speaker and attendees, it was simply overwhelming. I’m so honored to be a part of the JDRF team," Nicole DeCelle, JDRF Development Director said. "Having worked in development my entire career, and living with Type 1 diabetes for the past 20 years, this role gives me the unique opportunity to work in a field that I am so passionate about and connected to. Over the years, JDRF's investment in T1D research has resulted in so many advances, and I know that when a cure for T1D is found, JDRF will be the organization to find it. I hope that those who support us, both with their time and their resources, know that they are not only investing in a cure, but they are investing in improving the lives of all of us that are living each and every day with T1D. We couldn't be more grateful.”
