TEEING OFF AGAINST TYPE 1 DIABETES
On June 5, 2017. Tommy Selfridge, President, represented Swagelok Albany in the JDRF 17th Annual Hoffman Car Wash & Hoffman Jiffy Lube Golf Classic and Par-Tee. This fundraiser, which serves to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s Northeast New York Chapter, took place at the beautiful Saratoga National Golf Club, with 100 golfers participating. Later in the evening, about 220 golfers and spectators joined in the “Par-Tee”, for additional fundraising efforts. Guests enjoyed food and drink, a live band, and bid on live and silent auction items.
Type 1 Diabetes is an autoimmune disease that strikes children and adults suddenly; currently there is neither a cure nor prevention. The mission of this organization is “accelerating life-changing breakthroughs to cure, prevent, and treat T1D and its complications.” By raising more than $155,000 at this event alone, it is safe to say JDRF is on their way toward achieving that goal.
JDRF strives to see a world without Type 1 diabetes.
